Weber County’s Ogden region is one of the older industrial centers in Utah — a former Union Pacific railroad hub that grew up around 25th Street and the Ogden Union Station. Every position at HAFB and every contractor role tied to it operates under the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §81). Security-clearance positions are governed by SF-86 question 23: any cannabis use must be disclosed, current use is disqualifying, and Utah’s medical card provides no defense. DOT-regulated positions follow 49 CFR Part 40 with marijuana metabolite cutoffs of 50 ng/mL initial and 15 ng/mL confirmation. ATF Form 4473 question 21.g requires denial of firearm purchase to any “unlawful user” of marijuana — a federal definition that includes Utah cardholders.
